| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com I, Robot As paranoid cop Del Spooner, Will Smith (Independence Day, Men in Black,) displays both his trademark quips and some impressive pectoral muscles in I, Robot. Only Spooner suspects that the robots that provide the near future with menial labor are going to turn on mankind--he's just not sure how. When a leading roboticist dies suspiciously, Spooner pursues a trail that may prove his suspicions. Don't expect much of a connection to Isaac Asimov's classic science fiction stories; I, Robot, the action movie, isn't prepared for any ruminations on the significance of artificial intelligence. This likable, efficient movie won't break any new ground, but it does have an idea or two to accompany its jolts and thrills, which puts it ahead of most recent action flicks. Also featuring Bridget Moynahan (The Sum of All Fears), Bruce Greenwood (The Sweet Hereafter), and James Cromwell (Babe, LA Confidential). --Bret Fetzer Independence Day In Independence Day,, a scientist played by Jeff Goldblum once actually had a fistfight with a man (Bill Pullman) who is now president of the United States. That same president, late in the film, personally flies a jet fighter to deliver a payload of missiles against an attack by extraterrestrials. Independence Day is the kind of movie so giddy with its own outrageousness that one doesn't even blink at such howlers in the plot. Directed by Roland Emmerich, Independence Day is a pastiche of conventions from flying-saucer movies from the 1940s and 1950s, replete with icky monsters and bizarre coincidences that create convenient shortcuts in the story. (Such as the way the girlfriend of one of the film's heroes--played by Will Smith--just happens to run across the president's injured wife, who are then both rescued by Smith's character who somehow runs across them in alien-ravaged Los Angeles County.) The movie is just sheer fun, aided by a cast that knows how to balance the retro requirements of the genre with a more contemporary feel. --Tom Keogh The Day After Tomorrow Supreme silliness doesn't stop The Day After Tomorrow from being lots of fun for connoisseurs of epic-scale disaster flicks. After the blockbuster profits of Independence Day and Godzilla, you can't blame director Roland Emmerich for using global warming as a politically correct excuse for destroying most of the northern hemisphere. Like most of Emmerich's films, this one emphasizes special effects over such lesser priorities as well-drawn characters and plausible plotting, and his dialogue (cowritten by Jeffrey Nachmanoff) is so laughably trite that it could be entirely eliminated without harming the movie. It's the spectacle that's important here, not the lame, recycled plot about father and son (Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal) who endure an end-of-the-world scenario caused by the effects of global warming. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the awesome visions of tornado-ravaged Los Angeles, blizzards in New Delhi, Japan pummeled by grapefruit-sized hailstones, and Manhattan flooded by swelling oceans and then frozen by the onset of a modern ice age. It's all wildly impressive, and Emmerich obviously doesn't care if the science is flimsy, so why should you? --Jeff Shannon

Pay attention people! February 22, 2010 C. Artis 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
So the best I can tell, this review comes almost a year after most reviews on here and the pricing is still ridiculous. Current price for these movies purchased individually....$34.00, current price for this 3 pack....$70?????? Not sure what Amazon is thinking but this further proves that consumers need to read, read, read!!! No extras compared to individual discs equals no reason to purchase this set.
Indepenence Day is $80??!! June 30, 2009 A. Rector (Austin, MN) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Right now (6/30/09), there are a bunch of "bundles" available that include 3 blu-ray movies. One of those bundles includes (I Robot, Day After Tomorrow, and Terminator) for $39.49. Divided into 3, that equals about $13 per movie. THIS bundle includes (I Robot, Day After Tomorrow, and Independence Day) costs $107.99. We already know that I Robot and Day After Tomorrow cost about $13, right? Well, that means that Independence Day costs about $80 in this bundle. Thanks for the great price!!! I think I'll buy them seperately and save myself a ton of money...
Really? June 9, 2009 buhnstuff 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
At the current moment, you can buy these movies separately for $55.97, so why this bundle is so expensive is beyond me. Great pack, but not worth getting when you can save money the other way. I'd have given this 0 stars if that were possible!
Pricing is idiotic June 5, 2009 G. ambrose 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
As you can buy all three movies individually for far cheaper than the Bundle price I can't see why anyone would throw away $30.00 for this.
Three great movies May 28, 2009 J. Hughes 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was online looking to buy The Day After Tomorrow and Indepedence Day on Blu-ray. I saw the sci-fi bundle with I Robot, another good movie, with a great savings over the regular prices. I was able to get what I wanted and saved money. Good job on a great bundle!
